County Dublin is a county in the Republic of Ireland, and lies in the province of Leinster and is part of the Region of Dublin. Deep river valleys run throughout the county, running into green belt areas bringing together the Liffey with the Wicklow/Dublin mountains.
The Wicklow mountains form a natural boundry between Dublin and Wicklow. Several mountains in this range are in South Dublin, and continue on to Dun Laoighre Rathdown. South Dublin county has several attractive historical towns and villages, with many places of interest including St Maelruains Church in Tallaght, the Round Monastic Tower in Clondalkin, and Rathfarnham Castle.
County Dublin is home to some of the top angling centre in the country, including Corkagh Park Fishery. The Fishery lies in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin. The park has two lakes, a trout lake and a course lake. The trout lake is about three and a half acres in area, and the course lake is about four acres. The main species of fish in the course lake is carp, and the other species include Tench, Perch, Roach and Rudd. Some of the carps can weigh up to twelve pounds, but the average being about four to five pounds. The trout lake is for fly fishing, and the average weight is about three to four pounds, the lake is also home to many species of insects.
